Opinion

Ahead of the international break the WhoScored team have suggested a fantasy XI for Gameweek 7 after a rundown of last weekend's stat leaders.

It was Romelu Lukaku who stole the headlines on Monday night, grabbing a brace and an assist to earn a WhoScored rating of 9.45 - the highest of any player in the league this season. The only other player above the 9-mark was Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey (9.43), whose superb run of form continued with another goal and assist at Swansea.

Liverpool's Luis Suarez returned to league action with a bang, netting twice against Sunderland from a week high of 7 shots at goal. Meanwhile, full-backs Sascha Riether and Kevin Theophile-Catherine were among four players to produce 4 key passes last weekend, with the former picking up an assist for Bryan Ruiz's wonder strike against Cardiff.

Defensively, Newcastle's Cheick Tiote won the most tackles (8) in defeat at Goodison Park, while Swansea centre-back Chico made a week high of 6 interceptions against Arsenal.

Gameweek 7 Suggested XI:

David De Gea

No manager needs to pick up a result more than David Moyes right now, with United languishing in the bottom half of the league following defeat to West Brom last weekend. The fact that they face bottom club Sunderland should offer some relief, with the Black Cats netting just once in their last 7 games against the champions.

Kyle Walker
Tottenham's success thus far has been built on a superb defensive record to date. Spurs have already kept 9 clean sheets in all competitions, with 4 in the league, and they host the only side yet to score away from home this season in West Ham. With 13 key passes to his name already this season Kyle Walker could have joy at both ends on Sunday.

Martin Skrtel
Having seemingly been frozen out last season, the form and return to favour of Martin Skrtel has surprised many. Nevertheless the Slovakian is playing a key role in a back three for Liverpool right now, with the Reds hosting newly promoted Palace this weekend. Holloway's side have scored just once on the road all season.

Brede Hangeland
Fulham's home form is a real worry right now but they'll hope to put that right when Stoke visit this weekend. The Potters have continued to struggle for goals despite an improved playing style under Mark Hughes and they've netted just twice in their last 6 matches against the Cottagers in west London.

Ciaran Clark
High in confidence after a shock victory over City last weekend, Villa travel to Hull who are without top scorer Robbie Brady this weekend. It's unusual to choose one of Paul Lambert's defenders given their defensive record of late but they picked up a clean sheet in their last match on the road and have won against the Tigers without conceding in the last 5 meetings between the clubs.

Frank Lampard
Chelsea make the journey east to Norwich on Sunday looking to build on an impressive 4-0 win in Europe. The fact that they rarely struggle for goals against the Canaries is a boost, with 19 in their last 7 meetings, and the ever-dependable Frank Lampard has 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 starts against this weekend's opponents.

Mikel Arteta
Spaniard Mikel Arteta's return to fitness may well prove timely given Arsenal's opponents this weekend. The table toppers travel to West Brom and while it's fair to say the midfielder doesn't bag many goals for the Londoners, he's scored 3 in his last 3 appearances against the Baggies.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
Tottenham will be confident of keeping the pressure on their north London rivals at the summit of the league when they host a West Ham side that are notoriously poor away from home. Icelandic midfielder Sigurdsson was one of those tipped for the chop at Spurs this summer but he's scored 3 goals in their last 2 home games and netted in Tottenham's last meeting with the Hammers.

Craig Bellamy
He may have failed to get off the mark in the Premier League for his boyhood club so far but Craig Bellamy's record against former club Newcastle could see that change. The Welshman has 5 goals in his last 5 appearances against the Magpies and would become the first player in Premier League history to net for seven different top-flight clubs if he scored.

Romelu Lukaku
It may seem odd to choose an Everton player ahead of their trip to the Etihad in the early kick-off on Saturday but the Toffees have won 9 of their last 12 matches against City. In Romelu Lukaku they have a striker in red-hot form, with the Belgian having scored 6 goals in his last 220 minutes of Premier League action.

Luis Suarez
The only survivor from last week's XI, it's impossible to leave out Luis Suarez with the striker having settled back into action in seamless style last weekend. Against a struggling Crystal Palace side the Uruguayan could have a field day and the Reds will be heavy favourites to pick up a comfortable win at Anfield.

So here's how they line up:

Can you topple the WhoScored XI this weekend?
